Becoming a Member

We warmly invite prospective members to read our community leaflet and then to contact us.

Our Synagogue Manager will explain how the synagogue works and our Rabbi will call you to suggest a meeting or invite you to attend a service or other event to see how it feels.  We endeavour to make the process as personal as possible.  You are welcome to visit as often as you would like before making the decision to join us.

Once you join, we have a welcoming process to integrate you into community life.

There is an annual membership fee for different categories of household, but no one is prevented from joining through financial hardship.

We are also happy to welcome visiting members of other Liberal, Reform and Progressive Jewish communities from around the world.

Do take the first step and get in touch: administrator@fps.org or 020 8446 4063

Becoming Involved

A community thrives best when we all contribute to its life, and there are many opportunities for members to become involved. Perhaps you have a skill or professional expertise that may be of use.

Maybe you would like to help on a team organising an event. Do you have experience working with a charity or are you able to visit an elderly or bereaved member to give them support? Members may contribute as much as they choose.

Young Adults Membership

We are delighted when ‘FPS babies’ grow up and want to maintain the connection with their community. For young adults aged 21-30 who have grown up at FPS – or any other Progressive synagogue - we offer a £60/year membership. The membership does not include burial rights, but this can be added on.
